Irregular News – Issue 15 131221

Ha-ha-ha! Ho-ho-ho and a couple of tra-la-las,
That’s how we laugh the day away, whilst we wait for Irregular Choice Oz

It’s so so so close now. Just over a day to go and then i’ll be on a very very early train to London to travel somewhere over the rainbow. In case you failed to notice, I am a massive massive fan of all things Oz. Giddy is not a bouncy enough word. So, I thought you might like a very Oziness special edition of the newsletter. At the end I’ve done a round up of some Wizard of Oz inspired finds to help get you in that Friday launch mood.

You can now subscribe to Irregular Voice so that you never miss a newsletter. I promise never to spam you. You can follow me on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and/or YouTube, if you haven’t already.  Thank you in advance for your kindness.

There’s No Place Like IC

For the longest time, red Irregular Choice No Place Like Home were my holy shoe grail. I was so happy when I finally got hold of a pair because it was the closest I could get to owning Wizard Of Oz shoes. That’s all about to change as our Irregular dreams are about to come true. Irregular Choice is releasing a Wizard Of Oz collaboration that is launching on Friday 17th December at noon. Someone pinch me please.

We’ve been shown two pair of shoes, a pair of boots, high tops, two bags and a pair of socks. My favourite so far are the Hit The Road boots and bag. The boots are my dream Oz shoes (I seriously drew some very similar when we were doing all that lockdown colouring in).

I’m going to do a UK stockist list and mini guide of everything we know so far (including why I’m really not a fan of the Good, Bad & Fabulous Bad, sorry) tomorrow evening so keep an eye out.

Also, have you seen the box? I’m completely obsessed with it. I love the soles too even though there’s no wicked witch on them.

I’ll be at Carnaby Street on Friday for the launch so I will attempt to go live on Instagram and Facebook (Not at the same time) throughout the day.

More Ozzness

If that wasn’t enough, we have more good Oz news. The Wizard Of Oz Loungefly exclusive to Hooks UK (and Eight3Five in the US) have finally started to ship. I’ve got mine and I love it, it’s far nicer than the stock images. Both bags are still available to purchase on the website.

Perfect Christmas Bag

Want a perfect bag for Christmas. Loungefly are bringing a new version of Red Sequin right in time for the holidays and for the very first time it’s exclusive to the UK and Europe first. It’s very similar to the Disney Parks red sequin (that i used for my favourite Wizard Of Oz photoshoot) with a slightly different bow and a holographic red straps and back. There’s a little snowflake zipper like silver Holo too.

It went on sale on Monday and is be available from Get Ready Comics, Geekcore, Funko Europe and Truffle Shuffle.

Irregular Choice Christmas Ornaments

It’s a Christmas miracle, the ornaments have arrived!! With all the delays this year there was a rish that they might not make it in time for the big day but they have and will be available from 10am on Thursday 16th December. This year we have a red Nick Of Time, It’s Always Sunny, the Presents Fir You bag, Shirley Bass and Poker Joker.

The last two look like they are exclusive to Irregular Choice but the other three will be available from a number of stockists including Rockamilly, Lottie’s Atik and Purple Flamingo Vintage. I love the little boxes.

Return Of The Mac-Mystery Shoes

Lottie’s Atik have brought the mystery shoe back but this time it’s from one of their exclusive styles. Priced at £69.99, you can choose your size and whether you want a mid or high heel. You can also add a note if you don’t want any duplications from what you already own. If it wasn’t Oz week I would be so getting some of these as I love most of the exclusive styles.

Tale As Old As Time

I don’t normally share Loungefly until I know for certain that it is coming to a UK stockist but I had to make an exception for Belle. I love her. At the moment she is only available from Pink a la Mode in the US but I hear anything different I’ll let you know.

New Disney Collection Series

It doesn’t look like we’ll be getting anything like Minnie Mouse Main Attraction again next year but at least it looks like there’s no more Stitch Crashes! So far the only monthly 2022 collection we have is a series of boxed 35cm tall Mickey Mouse plush being sold via Amazon. The first one is cute and gold and he is already available for pre-order. They’ll be a new Mickey Mouse every month.

Oz Finds

How great is it that four different brands are taking us to Oz and that they can come together to create the perfect look?

Is that wasn’t enough Oz for you, here are some more Emerald City worthy finds:

  • This Vintage Supply shirt from ASOS. It’s a men’s shirt but could totally make it work. They also have a lot of blue gingham including this cute New Look dress. These socks are seriously cute too.
  • Have you hear of MinaLima Edition books? They are beautifully illustrated hardbacks of classic children stories with fun interactive elements that you can actually play with as you read. I have quite a few including the Wizard Of Oz and it’s beautiful. There’s maps, glasses that you can wear and all sorts of fun. It’s available from Amazon.

  • I love my Roberta green Gingham from Collectif and I think it’s perfect for an alternative Oz dress and would look great with anything witch themed. I am also a massive fan of the rainbow Suzanne Check Swing Dress which is coming to London with me (the dress is sold out in most sizes but there are a number of different options with the same fabric). If you want to go more traditional then there’s always the Jasmine Gingham Daisy Swing skirt.

Until next time, just remember:

“You’ve always had the power my dear, you just had to learn it for yourself.”
